I. Summary of the position:
The Communications Manager is a dynamic and mission-driven leader who excels at crafting and sharing the story of BRAVE Church with clarity, creativity, and purpose. This individual plays a vital role in executing the Church's comprehensive communication strategy, ensuring alignment with its vision and values.
Serving as the executor of numerous communication projects, the Communications Manager leads a collaborative team and cultivates cross-functional partnerships to deliver impactful messaging across multiple channels—including web, print, and environmental media. With a strong eye for brand consistency, they curate and manage communication assets to elevate BRAVE Church’s identity and amplify its mission.
Guided by a Christ-centered perspective, this leader drives initiatives that deepen engagement among congregants, enhances visibility within the broader community, and extends the reach of BRAVE’s ministry.
II. Experience and Knowledge Required:
· Education and Experience —Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, or related field preferred; 5+ years related job experience preferred.
· Exceptional Attention to Detail — Demonstrates accuracy and precision in all communications, ensuring high standards and consistency across materials.
· Strong Copywriting & Editing Expertise— Writes compelling, clear content for emails, announcements, and internal messaging; expertly edits team drafts to maintain tone and clarity.
· Proficiency in Design & Production Tools— Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite—especially InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat—to support brand-aligned visual communication.
· Business Applications— Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, to support strategic planning and presentation needs.
· Highly Organized & Self-Motivated— Brings strong project management skills and takes initiative to execute communication plans with precision and purpose.
· Visual Storytelling & Creative Flexibility— Possesses basic photography skills or a willingness to learn, contributing to visual documentation across Church campuses and events.
· Strong Interpersonal & Team Collaboration Skills— Thrives in a team environment with excellent relational instincts and a service-oriented mindset.
III. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Project Leadership:
· Oversee and execute communication initiatives across BRAVE Church, BRAVE Academy, and Pastor Jeff Ministries, aligning with directives from the Chief Communications Officer.
Team Management & Collaboration
· Lead and mentor a communications team while fostering cross-functional collaboration to meet strategic goals and enhance organizational brand and storytelling.
Digital Presence & Platform Oversight
· Manage website content and maintenance, approve emails and SMS campaigns (up to 1,000 recipients), and execute digital signage, SEO efforts, and paid-advertising strategies.
Brand & Resource Coordination
· Ensure consistency in branding across platforms by managing the BRAVE Shop, placing orders for print and environmental assets, and curating event communication materials.
Event Marketing & Calendar Management
· Coordinate marketing strategy and timely registration for all Church events, while maintaining accurate internal and public calendars.
Media Capture & Systems Engagement
· Participate in photography efforts at campuses and events and support the use of Rock RMS and other communication platforms with a eagerness to learn and grow.
