Job Description

CNC Machinist / Manual Machinist / Machining Technician required to join a growing precision manufacturing company based in Houston, TX.

CNC Machinist / Manual Machinist / Machining Technician will be responsible for setting up and operating manual and CNC lathes, mills, and other shop equipment to support both production and engineering operations in a low-volume, high-mix environment. The role involves blueprint interpretation, machine maintenance, and contributing to quality and safety standards across the facility.

CNC Machinist / Manual Machinist / Machining Technician will ideally have experience with multi-axis CNC machines, fixture setup, gauging tools including CMMs, and a good working knowledge of CNC programming and GD&T.

CNC Machinist / Manual Machinist / Machining Technician

Role
Perform complete machine setups on manual lathes, CNC lathes, and mills across various part types and programs.
Read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and drawings aligned with GD&T principles.
Carry out machining operations to support both production and engineering floors.
Maintain equipment and work area in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
Conduct preventive maintenance per PM schedules and inspect machines for wear or damage.
Operate and understand gauging equipment, including CMM, and verify gage calibration.
Set up fixturing and tooling as per job requirements.
Understand CNC programming basics; ability to create and edit programs is a plus.
Follow all engineering instructions, standard operating procedures, and departmental guidelines.

Requirements
3+ years' experience in CNC machining within a production or industrial manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of gauging tools, machine safety, and fixturing.
Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Familiarity with CNC controls and programming languages.
Must be able to read technical drawings and machine documentation.
Physically able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand/move around the shop floor.
Strong math skills and ability to use precision measuring tools.
