This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer in New Jersey (USA).

This role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal part in designing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise data systems in a fast-paced, innovative environment. You will ensure the seamless flow of accurate data across the organization while supporting reporting, analytics, and decision-making processes. The position emphasizes hands-on expertise with databases, data engineering pipelines, and advanced analytics tools. You will monitor systems for anomalies, troubleshoot issues, and provide guidance to internal teams on data best practices. The role also involves collaborating with stakeholders to ensure compliance with policies, supporting data-driven initiatives, and helping the organization leverage its data for strategic advantage.

Accountabilities

  • Build and maintain efficient processes for organizing, storing, and analyzing data while ensuring availability and consistency.
  • Implement and enforce policies for effective data management and governance.
  • Design and maintain procedures for secure and accurate data collection, handling, and analysis.
  • Monitor data systems, respond to anomalies, and troubleshoot issues as the primary point of contact.
  • Establish protocols for data sharing with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Support teams in the use of data systems, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Assist in creating reports, data extractions, and system performance improvements.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Data Analyst, or similar role.
  • Expertise in SQL Server (MS and PostgreSQL), Tableau, R, and Python.
  • Experience with data platforms such as Dataiku and predictive analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of data administration, warehousing, star schemas, and visualization techniques.
  • Advanced problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work remotely across teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools like Slack and MS Teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
  • U.S.-based with reliable high-speed internet and a designated quiet workspace for remote work.
