OCDE is a public education organization offering support services to 28 school districts and more than 600 schools and 20,000 educators serving over 450,000 students in Orange County. Our vision is that Orange County students will lead the nation in college and career readiness and success. It is the goal of our program and services to emphasize the teaching of skills that are functional and critical to the needs of our students. Whenever possible, interaction with non-disabled peers is promoted. We emphasize communication, vocational training, and functional academic skills with a behavior management emphasis. Typically, assignments focus on providing care for one of the following: medically fragile students, students with significant behavior issues, students in adult transitional programs, or pre-school students in OCDE autism early intervention programs.

The ideal candidate for the position of Paraeducator will have knowledge of methods and practices relating to behavior modification, conflict resolution, and safety for our moderate to severe student population. This position can work in a one-on-one or small group setting in a classroom or out in the community.
