Mechanical Engineer - JPC144

Pay: $40,000 - 120,000/year + Benefits

Schedule: Monday - Friday

We are seeking Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for managing multiple projects, developing extrusion processes, designing tooling, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in plastics extrusion, die design, and troubleshooting extrusion-related issues.

Responsibilities :

• Report directly to the Engineering Manager.
• Analyze and handle multiple projects with deadlines effectively.
• Develop process start-up parameters and documentation for new and existing products.
• Design and adjust extrusion tooling for optimal performance.
• Lead continuous improvement teams to enhance productivity, reduce scrap rates, and improve efficiency.
• Resolve productivity-related issues on the production floor during runs.
• Troubleshoot machine and system-related issues to ensure smooth production.
• Support all equipment improvement and installation projects.
• Improve the engineering operation in aspects related to quality, cost, safety, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications :

• 7-10 years of hands-on experience in plastics extrusion.
• Experience with extrusion die design using 3D CAD.
• Strong knowledge of extrusion processes, polymers, and troubleshooting.
• College degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related degree (Mechanical Engineering preferred) with manufacturing experience and related extrusion experience.
• Ability to support the installation, integration, maintenance, and upgrade of extrusion processing systems, machinery, and equipment.
• Proven ability to provide hands-on engineering technical support to ongoing production processes.
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
• Must have experience with extruded thermoplastics.
• Must have a strong understanding of rheology.
• Experience with plastic sheets, rods, tubes, and custom profiles.
• Bilingual (English/French) preferred.
