Under the direction of the Senior Communications Officer (Information Officer II), the Communications Officer (Information Officer I) assumes a pivotal role in a fast-paced team. This position is charged with independently executing various tasks that contribute to the communication strategy aimed at informing and engaging audiences about the activities and objectives of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). The Information Officer I will collaborate with key internal stakeholders and executives; develop, deliver, and measure internal and external campaigns; and shape communications to effectively communicate the CPUC's mission and agency strategy through compelling messages across various internal and external communication channels. A primary objective is to keep the diverse workforce well-informed, engaged, and motivated, fostering a sense of unity and purpose within the organization.

  1. Please describe your experience writing and implementing strategic communication plans.
  2. Please describe your media relations experience, including developing and pitching stories, responding to inquiries and preparing for and conducting interviews.
  3. Please describe experience you have in planning and staffing events for the press and public, such as press conferences and public forums.
