Host/Hostess – Spotted Donkey at The Westin Westminster
Job Summary:
The Westin Westminster is seeking a warm, professional, and guest-focused Host/Hostess to join our team at Spotted Donkey , our vibrant restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktails at the full bar. Spotted Donkey is a very busy, high-volume restaurant , popular with both hotel guests and locals. As the first point of contact, the Host/Hostess sets the tone for the dining experience by welcoming guests, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth front-of-house operations.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage reservations, wait lists, and seating assignments using the restaurant’s reservation system.
- Escort guests to tables and provide menus, ensuring seamless service flow.
- Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to optimize table turnover and guest experience.
- Answer guest questions regarding menu items, restaurant hours, and hotel amenities.
- Monitor the dining room and bar areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup.
- Assist with maintaining host stand and entry area, keeping it organized and guest-ready.
- Handle guest concerns with professionalism and escalate issues to management as needed.
- Support the service team during peak hours by helping with table resets, running food, or assisting as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous restaurant host/hostess or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-first mindset.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy, high-volume environment.
- Professional appearance and demeanor in line with Marriott/Westin brand standards.
- Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
