Job Description

The International Arctic Research Center (IARC) is recruiting for graduate students interested in a research assistantship for the academic year. Assignments can be on a per semester or full academic year basis. This temporary student position offer an opportunity to join our dynamic research unit faculty and staff. In this role you play an important role in supporting research activities and your contributions are part of the overall team' success.

To thrive in this role, the applicant should possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and faculty. Attention to detail is essential to maintain accuracy. Have some experience, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively, while meeting deadlines and achieving team goals. Adaptability and willingness to learn new skills is key to success. Maintaining high standards of performance and have an interest and capacity to learn curricular or research design and support. Have an understanding of how learning/research/creative processes works. Be able to collaborate and work in a diverse environment. Good organizational skills. Good communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Awarded Bachelor's degree and Pursuing a Graduate degree at UAF.
Awarded a Master's Degree and Pursuing a PhD degree at UAF.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Fairbanks campus in Fairbanks and flexible on-site work arrangements may be considered as the research assignment(s) permit. This is a part-time exempt student position. New hires will be placed on the graduate pay scale based on education. 

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year.
