We are so glad you are interested in joining Sutter Health! **Organization:** SMF-Sutter Med Foundation- Central **Position Overview:** Is responsible for providing genetic counseling to patients referred to the program who may be at risk for a hereditary condition. Counsels patients referred to the program on all genetic testing related matters, including risk assessment, overview of genetic testing, test results and implications, and suggested follow-up. **Job Description** : **EDUCATION:** _Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma._ + Master's: Genetic Counseling **TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:** + 2 years recent relevant experience. **CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:** + CGC-Certified Genetic Counselor **SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:** + Understanding of clinical applications and standards necessary to provide comprehensive, current genetic services and counseling. + Familiar with input and data retrieval on computer database. + Good communication and interpersonal skills, good writing ability. + Knowledge and experience in the area of teamwork with health professionals. **Job Shift:** Days **Schedule:** Full Time **Days of the Week:** Monday - Friday **Weekend Requirements:** Occasionally **Benefits:** Yes **Unions:** No **Position Status:** Exempt **Weekly Hours:** 40 **Employee Status:** Regular Employees of Sutter Health and its entities may handle hazardous drugs in the course of their work, including patient care, which requires them to manage, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drugs identified as hazardous or potentially hazardous by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and in accordance with the USP 800 guidelines. Pay Range is $44.28 to $66.42 / hour _The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
