Job Description

A Driving Instructor at Capabilities works with individuals with and without disabilities aged 16+ to help them learn the skills necessary to get their learner’s permit and/or driver’s license.

DESCRIPTION

You get to work one-on-one with people to teach traffic laws, signs, responsibility, safety, and build confidence while they are on the road. When they are ready to test, you accompany them to the testing site to support them and celebrate their achievements. Imagine this:

The door to the BMV opens, and a newly licensed driver that you helped runs toward you with a big smile on their face… they passed! You just helped open a door to a world of new opportunities for them.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma/GED or above.

• Ability to type 25 words per minute and navigate a company-issued laptop.

• A clean driving record and the ability to teach people to drive in company vehicles.

• Ability to pass a background and drug screening (a list of the disqualifying offenses can be provided if needed).
