Job Description

SUMMARY

The Director of Marketing and Communications will be responsible for developing, executing, and evaluating marketing and public relations strategies that promote the college's programs, services, and brand. This role will work closely with the Office of the President and Vice President for Enrollment Management to manage marketing campaigns, issue press releases and manage media relationships, plan and create compelling content, coordinate events, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure the college's messaging aligns with institutional goals. The Director of Marketing and Communications will also be charged with analyzing market trends, audience insights, and campaign performance to continuously improve outreach efforts. This is a 12-month professional position.

RATE: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience in marketing or communications, with a preference for experience in higher education or nonprofit sectors

  1. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Proven history of developing and executing successful marketing strategies.
  3. Experience drafting press releases and handling press inquiries.
  4. Experience in digital marketing and social media management.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.
  6. Skilled in project management, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  7. Attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards across marketing materials.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking.
  9. Ability to adapt to changing trends and technologies in marketing.
  10. Keeps current on web technology and development languages to ensure the website is up to date and user-friendly
  11. Proficiency in digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta, and email marketing platforms.
  12. Experience with tagging and reporting systems such as Google Tag Manager, GA4, or similar tools.
  13. Knowledge of website content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress or Drupal.
  14. Experience with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
  15. Familiarity with on-page and technical SEO best practices and content optimization for search engines.
  16. Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, such as Slate.
  17. Familiarity with video editing software and photography is a plus.
  18. Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to increase enrollment, raise awareness, and enhance the Clinton Community College brand.
  2. Lead digital and organic marketing campaigns across multiple platforms, including social media, email marketing, website content, and online placements.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with the press to communicate the college's brand and priorities clearly for the public through press releases, op-eds, interviews, and events.
  4. Collaborate with academic departments, admissions, and student services to promote academic programs, events, and other initiatives.
  5. Write and edit marketing content, including newsletters, blogs, videos, brochures, press releases, and social media posts.
  6. Function as primary campus photographer/videographer as well as manage library of photo and video resources.
  7. Manage the college's website, ensuring it is up to date with relevant information, promotions, and branding.
  8. Plans and executes visual and structural site redesigns
  9. Works with IT department to ensure an effective interface between all web-related systems to maintain student accessibility and to ensure effective customer service. Works in coordination with IT staff to develop and maintain web interfaces to the College's work-based resources and the student information system.
  10. Develops, maintains and provides training on user tools to faculty and staff for the maintenance if individual web pages.
  11. Analyze and report on the performance of marketing campaigns and initiatives using analytics tools, providing recommendations for optimization.
  12. Stay up to date with current trends in higher education marketing and best practices.
  13. Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, vendors, and student interns.
  14. Maintain consistency of brand voice and messaging across all marketing materials and platforms.
  15. Manage Marketing and Communication budget centers in coordination with the Vice President for Enrollment Management
