We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Business Analyst (BA) / Project Manager to support critical product development and operations within the Investment Banking division of a global financial institution. This hybrid role requires a strong grasp of Agile (Scrum) methodologies, business analysis best practices, and project delivery in capital markets or investment banking environments. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between stakeholders and delivery teams to ensure timely, scalable, and business-aligned solutions across syndicate desk and capital market workflows.

Responsibilities
Work closely with syndicate desk teams, capital markets operations, engineering, and compliance to understand business needs, document requirements, and drive process improvements.
Elicit, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements using interviews, workshops, and data-driven analysis.
Translate complex requirements into structured deliverables such as Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), user stories, and process flows.
Serve as Scrum Master or Agile Lead when required-managing sprint ceremonies, backlog prioritization, and team velocity tracking.
Drive end-to-end project management activities including planning, timeline tracking, stakeholder communication, and risk mitigation.
Support QA and UAT by reviewing test cases, validating system behavior against requirements, and coordinating defect resolution.
Conduct detailed data analysis using SQL, Excel, or visualization tools to support business cases, reporting, and solution validation.
Collaborate with UI/UX, design, and engineering teams to translate business needs into intuitive product experiences.
Ensure alignment with compliance, regulatory, and internal control requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Act as a key liaison between global teams and ensure clear communication, timely escalations, and seamless project coordination.
Provide regular status updates, dashboards, and executive summaries for leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst and/or Project Manager in financial services, with a focus on investment banking or capital markets.
Proven experience working within Agile (Scrum) delivery frameworks; experience leading agile ceremonies and using tools like Jira and Confluence.
Strong understanding of capital markets operations including syndication, deal lifecycle, compliance (KYC/AML), and regulatory reporting.
Experience in documenting detailed BRDs, FSDs, epics, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
Proficiency in project tracking tools and productivity platforms such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Visio, Lucidchart, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of data tools such as SQL, Excel, Power BI, or Tableau for analysis and reporting.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills across both business and technical audiences.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and work with cross-functional global teams.
Knowledge of or exposure to AI/ML-powered business solutions (e.g., NLP, document processing, insight generation) is a plus.
Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, CSM, or PMP are desirable.
Must be based in New York and available to work onsite in a hybrid model.
